The Low Voltage Electrical subteam designs the electronics that operate every system on the car outside of the high voltage tractive system. Our work includes the power distribution board, driver dashboard, sensor aggregation board, accelerator pedal circuitry, safety boards, and onboard data logger. These boards communicate over a shared CAN bus, and our responsibility is to ensure that driver inputs, sensor data, and safety signals reach the firmware that controls the car.
We collaborate closely with the Accumulator EE subteam on the interface between the high and low voltage systems, and with the CS subteam on the firmware that runs on our hardware.
